Harry Potter magic is coming to Abu Dhabi with three new lands by 2029
Two new DC attractions will also form part of the wider expansion
ABU DHABI – Harry Potter fans will soon have three new reasons to visit Yas Island, with Miral announcing a major expansion of Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi.
In partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences, Miral will develop three new Harry Potter-themed lands at the region’s largest indoor theme park. The expansion will bring Diagon Alley, Hogwarts and the Forbidden Forest to Abu Dhabi, with construction targeted for completion in 2029.
Covering approximately 63,000 square metres, or 678,000 square feet, the new lands will introduce the wizarding world through immersive environments, storytelling and attractions created specifically for Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi.
The development will include world-exclusive Harry Potter-themed rides, designed only for the Abu Dhabi park. The new experiences will use themed environments, innovative design and interactive elements to recreate locations and stories from the Harry Potter universe for visitors.
Major expansion
Mohamed Khalifa Al Mubarak, Chairman of Miral, said the addition of the three lands marks a significant milestone in the continued development of Yas Island and Abu Dhabi.
He said the project builds on Miral’s longstanding partnership with Warner Bros. Discovery Global Experiences and supports Abu Dhabi’s wider ambitions for economic diversification, tourism growth and the development of its entertainment sector.
Simon Robinson, President, Global Experiences and Studio Operations at Warner Bros. Discovery, said the expansion would strengthen the connection between the company’s franchises and audiences, while reflecting its long-term vision for immersive entertainment destinations.
Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi currently features six immersive lands, bringing characters and stories from Warner Bros. properties to life through rides and family-oriented attractions.
The Harry Potter development is part of a broader expansion of the indoor theme park. It will be joined by two previously announced DC attractions, Kryptonite Collider and Superman Up and Away.
70,000sqm addition
Together, the new Harry Potter lands and DC attractions will add around 70,000 square metres, or 753,478 square feet, of new theme park space. The wider development is expected to increase Warner Bros. World Abu Dhabi’s overall size by more than 50 per cent.
The expansion will significantly broaden the park’s existing line-up, adding new attractions and themed environments alongside its current six lands.
The Harry Potter lands will be spread across approximately 63,000 square metres, making them the largest component of the expansion. Construction is targeted for completion in 2029, when visitors will be able to explore settings including Diagon Alley, Hogwarts and the Forbidden Forest within the Abu Dhabi park.
The project adds another major attraction to Yas Island’s portfolio, which includes a range of leisure, entertainment and tourism destinations. Miral said the development will further strengthen the island’s offering as the expansion progresses towards its 2029 completion target.
